5 Litre Equine Flax Seed Oil

Our most popular size of Equine Oil. This is perfect for someone with one or two horses feeding Flax Seed Oil for general health and shine! Will last one horse around 3 months.

For general health and maintenance, we recommend a daily feeding rate of 20-30ml per day for a miniature horse, 40ml per day for a pony, foal or yearling, and 50-70ml per day for an adult horse. This will provide enough nutrition for general maintenance of skin, coat, joints, hooves and overall condition.

If a specific inflammatory condition, allergy or skin irritation is being treated, this rate can be increased. If you wish to use the Oil as an energy source for racehorses and endurance events, then 140-200ml can be fed daily. Delivery takes 1-3 working days with Post Haste Couriers and costs $9. If delivery is to an RD address, please select this option when ordering. This will incur an extra $5 charge.

I bought an older mare about a month before HOY with the hope of beginning my dressage career. She was a bit of a 'grumpy student' after spending the last 12 years of her life doing not much more than hooning about as a hunter. At HOY, I had a chat to the team, and purchased some flax seed oil, and I'm so glad I did. My mare's movement is SO much freer, and as a consequence, she's become a much happier dressage student! Her condition has also improved out of sight, and her winter fluffies are so soft and downy. There was a scurfy condition on her back legs which has totally cleared up, as has her bit of mud fever. I'm on to my third bottle, and feed only 50 mls a day for these results. I'll be using it for the rest of my mare's days!
